6 – 12 graders: Teen Center Camps/Workshops

July 7-11: Thrift Fashion 9am- 2pm, 6th-12th graders, $75, lunch provided

Showcase your fashion design skills! Participants will watch design shows featuring design experts, receive a style assignment, and visit thrift stores all over the region to put together great outfits on a budget. The week will end with a fashion show, and everyone keeps their fab new looks!

July 14-18: BDCC Youth Career Bootcamp 9am-2pm Free, lunch provided

The Youth Career Bootcamp is designed for rising juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who are unsure of their next step beyond high school and want to learn more about career pathways right in their backyard. The Bootcamp will feature employer panels, job site visits, and soft skills workshops. Students will learn how to explore career pathways through jobs, training and educational opportunities. Students may opt to receive support applying to local jobs and internships as well. A stipend is available to all participants who complete the entire camp.

July 21-25: College Exploration Camp 9am-5pm, 9th-12th graders, $150, lunch provided

What kind of college do you want to attend? There are public and private colleges and universities, campuses set in beautiful nature campuses or right in the middle of busy cities, in the mountains or near the ocean… Come with the Club to visit a different regional college every day and explore the local environment. If the campus is near a mall, we can shop; If it’s near the beach, we can visit the ocean! Each school will be at least an hour’s drive away, so students will get the chance to explore a variety of regional options for their futures.

July 28th- August 1: Skate Camp 9am-3pm, 6th-12th graders, $200, lunch provided

Build your own skateboard! Spend the morning at HatchSpace building your own custom skateboard, then come back to the Club for lunch and an afternoon of skating in our park and around town.

August 4-8: Introduction to Woodworking 9am-12pm, 6th-12th graders, $150

Join us and our friends at HatchSpace to learn foundational carpentry techniques. Each day the instructors will teach participants how to use various tools and equipment to create a basic skill set for woodworking. Participants will choose from a variety of possible projects to create and bring home at the end of the week.

August 11-15: VEMSA Wilderness Preparedness 9am-3pm, 6th-12th graders, $165, lunch provided

During this week-long camp at the Vermont EMS Academy in Newfane, participants will complete the American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR/AED/First Aid and receive their 2 year certification. They will learn how to perform CPR on adults, infants and children. During the first aid modules they will learn bleeding control, splinting, treatments for heat and cold related emergencies along with many other skills. Participants will learn how to apply the basic first aid skills that they learned to the outdoors. We’ll introduce them to basic wilderness first aid and technical rescue skills such as basic knots.
